About 120 polling station women’s organizers of the New Patriotic Party(NPP)in the Yendi constituency, have raised funds and picked nomination for on behalf of the Member of Parliament for the Yendi constituency.
According to the NPP polling station women’s organizers, they believe in the vision of the Yendi MP and that, a second term for the MP will ensure continuous development in the Yendi Constituency.
After picking the nomination form at the Yendi NPP constituency office, they indicated that the Yendi MP has transformed the Yendi constituency and brought massive developmental projects in the area and are optimistic that a second term for the MP will be beneficial to the good people of Yendi.
The Member of Parliament for the Yendi Constituency, Farouk Aliu Mahama, thanked the 120 polling station women’s organizers for believing in him.
“I want to express my utmost gratitude to the 120 polling station women’s organizers who came together on 20th December,2023, to raise funds and storm the party office in our Constituency to pick my nomination forms. With their unwavering support, they picked up the nomination forms on my behalf, which allowed me to continue to serve them as their Member of Parliament. Their action demonstrates their belief in my leadership, and I am truly grateful for their efforts”.
He also thanked the 26 coordinators who were also present at the party office with the same purpose and that their presence signifies their confidence in his ability to lead.
“I am deeply touched by the support shown by both the polling station women’s organizers and the coordinators. Your dedication and belief in me as a leader inspire me to work harder and fulfil my responsibilities. Thank you once again for your invaluable support”.
In the 2020 NPP primaries , Farouk Aliu Mahama polled 244 votes as against 210 and 139 votes obtained by Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakaria, then Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Loans Centre (MASLOC) and Baba Daney, a Chartered Accountant respectively.
The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the opening of nominations for the party’s parliamentary primaries for constituencies with incumbent Members of Parliament (MPs) on Wednesday, December 20.
This follows the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Council meeting on Wednesday, December 6 in Accra.
