The Lagos State Police Command has initiated an investigation into the complaint lodged by Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage against her colleague, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
Tiwa Savage took action by petitioning the Commissioner of Police in the state, Adegoke Fayoade, on Tuesday, January 9, citing alleged threats to her life and well-being by Davido.
The investigation follows an online dispute that unfolded after Tiwa Savage and her ex-husband, Tee Billz, accused Davido of threatening her on multiple occasions.
Tee Billz, Tiwa Savage’s former spouse, publicly called out Davido, and vowed to impart a life lesson for purportedly threatening to send individuals after Tiwa Savage, the mother of his son, for the third time.
Tee Billz also labeled Davido as a ‘deadbeat father’ who hasn’t seen his daughter Imade for the past two Christmases.
The controversy gained traction online when Tiwa Savage and Davido unfollowed each other on Instagram, sparking public speculation and discussion.
In response to the situation, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the receipt of the petition and stated, “I can confirm to you that we have received the petition, and investigation has commenced.”
The unfolding investigation adds a legal dimension to the ongoing feud between the two musicians, generating significant attention within the Nigerian entertainment industry and beyond.
