Ghanaian broadcaster, Afia Pokuaa, known as Real Vim Lady, has come to the defence of the embattled movie star, Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as Lilwin, to plead for mercy in connection with his recent accident that claimed the life of the three-year-old boy.

According to her, the actor’s accident, which occurred on Saturday, May 25, in Kumasi leading to the death of the three-year-old boy is a serious case that could land him in jail for five years.

In a video shared on blogger Mari_Gyata’s Instagram page, Vim Lady expressed concern over the severity of the charges against Lilwin and urged for leniency.

“The charges against the actor could land him in a five-year jail term. We need to plead with the law to forgive him,” she stated.

“He is an asset to Ghana; we cannot underestimate his craft and contribution as an actor and director in the movie industry,” she said.

She advised Lilwin to stop engaging in social media, “This is a serious case and you should stop these sympathy videos as the case forwarded to the Attorney General can even attract more sanctions.”

However, Afia Pokuaa’s comments have stirred controversy on social media, with many questioning her stance on the matter.

Followers have criticised her for seemingly prioritising Lilwin’s status as an entertainment figure over the tragic loss experienced by the family of the deceased child.

In the comment section, krissy_360 wrote, “What is she talking about we should help him, allow the law to work, and stop this propaganda speech, he is nation asset, who is not a nation asset.”

Irresistible_blixzy, also wrote, “My friend Gerrout! A human being was killed and you are talking about a national asset?”

Meanwhile, the duplicate docket on the case has been sent to the office of the Attorney General for advice.

The prosecution made this known when the actor made a second appearance before the Asokore Mampong District Court on Thursday, June 27.

The court, presided over by Samuel Buabin Quansah, consequently adjourned the case to July 29 for further updates.

Kwadwo Nkansah, 37, was arrested, charged, and arraigned following a recent road crash involving his vehicle that resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy.

His lawyer, Nana Bonsu Kyeretwie, emphasised that they are prepared to face prosecution but are currently focused on awaiting official guidance from the Attorney General.
