Vice President Bawumia has stressed the need for the upcoming 2024 general elections to be devoid of the insults and violence that has often characterised politics in the country.
Rather, he says it should be about issues and what one has to offer Ghanaians and not how much they can insult their opponents or visit violence on them.
Speaking at the Holiness Pentecostal Church in the Weija-Gbawe constituency as part of his Greater Accra regional tour, he asked Ghanaians to eschew insults and violence.
He emphasised the need for peace in order to ensure continuity in the development of the country in peace.
“We pray to have peaceful elections this year. The process is about espousing your ideas and not insults or violence. If you have your idea, share it and not resort to insults or violence.
We must ensure we have peace just as we are enjoying now”, he said.
Dr. Bawumia who is the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate for the 2024 general election urged the congregation and other faith-based and religious groups to pray for Ghana to continue enjoying peace for development.
He proceeded to the Ablekuma Curve in the Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency where he had a meet and greet campaign before a mini rally at the same location.
NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Emmanuel Tobin, urged all supporters to strengthen their house-to- house campaign.
He further assured the Vice President that Anyaa-Sowutuom constituency will give him 75% votes on December 7th 2024.
Dr. Bawumia also joined a stakeholders meeting at Pentecost University in Sowutuom where he assured that he would strengthen major digitisation agenda and ensure that Ghana is transformed for better.
From there, he went to the Disciples of Christ Ministries, where he assured that new born babies will soon get birth certificates and Ghana card at their first Child Welfare Clinic.
Wife of the late John Kumah, Lilian Kumah who is the Founder of the Church, said her husband will rest well because he promised to bring Veep to the church and was therefore happy with his campaign.
