Guru Is UG SRC President

In a stunning turn of events, Ghanaian musician Maradona Adjei Yeboah, popularly known as Guru, has emerged victorious in the University of Ghana’s Students’ Representative Council (SRC) presidential election. Despite initial disqualification, Guru and his running mate, Jeffery Adu-Yeboah, secured 50.7% of the votes with 9,455 ballots.

Guru’s journey to the top was fraught with challenges.

Initially disqualified due to residency issues, he faced a legal battle to reclaim his candidacy.

The Appeals Board’s reversal of his disqualification paved the way for his participation leading to his victory.

The election saw 18,659 voters casting their ballots, with Guru’s “Lapaz Toyota” fame and charisma likely contributing to his success.

His campaign’s resilience and determination paid off, despite earlier setbacks.

The newly elected SRC President, Guru, and his team will steer the affairs of the student body for the 2024/25 academic year, as students and faculty alike eagerly await his vision and leadership.
