Shatta Wale Snubs Pope Skinny

Shatta Wale and Pope Skinny

Rapper Pope Skinny has revealed that dancehall star, Shatta Wale, refused to pick him up at the airport after he had reached out upon returning to Ghana.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Ofie Kwanso show, Pope Skinny disclosed that despite the missed gesture, he and Shatta Wale remain on good terms, putting past public disagreements behind them.

“I sent him a message that he should come and pick me up at the airport, but he didn’t come. I even told some of his people. It would have been beautiful for him to do that, but he knows where I am, so I believe he will surprise me with a visit,” Pope Skinny shared during the interview.

Reflecting on their long-standing friendship, Pope Skinny acknowledged that while they’ve had their differences, their bond remains strong.

“We had a misunderstanding and couldn’t solve it indoors, so we brought it out to the public. But now, we are no more like that. I am too mature to have issues with Shatta Wale. He is my guy, my friend, and I do not have any problem with him,” he said.

He admitted that although their disagreements had sometimes spilt into the public, they were only a fraction of the many quarrels between them.

“We have fought many times, and this is the only one that came out. He said something that pained me, but I had to let the people know it wasn’t true. But for life, I and Wale, we are for life,” he added.

Despite Shatta Wale’s airport snub, Pope Skinny emphasised that their friendship is built to last, and he remains confident that their bond will endure beyond occasional misunderstandings.
