Maintain The Tempo With Boots On The Ground

TEMPO: The rate of motion of activity – Webster’s Dictionary.

The campaign strategy of the NPP is unique. They don’t go about insulting, teasing and playing on the intelligence of the populace and joking. Dr. Bawumia himself continues to lay down his plans of creating a digital Ghana on the table. He has plans for every sector of the economy and he wants Ghana to take a quantum leap forward.  He explains extensively what is embedded in the party’s manifesto which is heartwarming.

What is most interesting about Dr. Bawumia is that even though he is from the north, he communicates in Twi to the delight of his listeners.  He has proven to Ghanaians that he has passed through the mill and ready to serve his nation with honesty and dignity.  Since he hit the road, his political enemies have never had anything to say against him as far as corruption is concerned. He has never been prosecuted and indicted before.  He is Mr. Clean and that is good for Ghana.

Those who have the issue of Ford Expedition, Guinea Fowls and “Alupre” cases are still walking with the albatross hanging on their necks.  Such persons have stepped on chameleon droppings.  If they clean, it cannot go.  As for Dr. Bawumia, he is walking with chest out and feet firmly fixed on the ground.  He is the man of the moment.

And did I hear Isaac Adongo, MP for Bolgatanga Central saying Dr. Bawumia drinks alcohol and eats pork? This is blasphemy and God will never forgive people like Adongo who are acting like a snake that has been hit with a stick. Did the man think before vomiting that rot? Was he under the influence of something else apart from water? Has politics reached this level? Many years ago in the Wild West in America, such persons like Isaac Adongo are referred to as desperadoes.

Hajia Samira Bawumia, the beautiful wife of the Vice President, is seriously working beyond human endurance to sell the vision and mission of her husband. Like Madam Rebecca Akufo-Addo, she meets the people, including queen mothers, in their homes and politely tells her story.  She is a darling girl of the people of the zongo not because she is a Muslim; she is very respectful and charming. Her infectious smiles weaken the heart of even the wicked.  She seems tireless and always on the move.  She is even more vibrant than her husband.  It looks like a competition between the Vice President and his wife on the campaign trail.

Hajia Samira and her husband are lucky because she has the First Lady and her husband, the President, also joining the campaign and criss-crossing the country, selling and propagating the Gospel according to the NPP.  Nana Addo refuses to stay at home and rest after steering the ship of state for nearly eight years. He and his wife are still strong and unwavering. JDM and his cohorts have forgotten all too soon that they tagged Nana Akufo-Addo as too old to become the president of Ghana. At his age, Nana Akufo Addo looks younger than JDM and his wife.

All the elders of the NDC who fought tooth and nail to form the party have abandoned ship, leaving JDM alone to struggle with his babies with sharp teeth who have nothing to offer but insults and balderdash like their boss.  Mills and Rawlings have gone to the world beyond and their widows, Naadu Mills and Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings have all turned their backs against the NDC.  Naadu Mills has been silent and seldom seen in public since the untimely death of her husband because she seems not to understand the circumstances that led to her husband’s death.

Dennis Miracles Aboagye is a gem and one of the best communicators of any political party in this Fourth Republic. The guy is very knowledgeable and knows what he is doing. If you want to engage him in any argument, you have to gird up your loins because he is mercurial and fearless. I used to take on the NPP Communicators for their lukewarm attitude to the propagation of the good works of the government of Nana Addo and Dr. Bawumia.  I have written about five articles on this particular issue and at a point in time, I nearly lost my cool and started kicking like a bull.

I was particularly angry for the Ministry of Information’s inability to showcase the works of the government.

Today, I must admit that things have changed for the better. I can now see projects like asphalted roads, Agenda 111 etc. being shown on TV stations.  I have lowered my clinched fist.  Napo, the running mate, started with a confused mind but today, he is on track and moving like high speed supersonic train. He chooses his words with care and it sinks in.  His critics have been silent since they have nothing against him. You see, when the great Otumfuo gives you pieces of advice and you close your ears to it, you do so at your own peril. The Golden Stool is a deity and the occupant of the Golden stool is half human, half spirit. Now the Golden Stool has taken over the destiny of Napo.

It seems Ogyam has been possessed by an evil spirit.  He has turned his campaign to Cantata. When somebody is proposing ideas that could move the nation forward in this 21st century, Ogyam is proposing the rearing of chickens, building of chicken coops, donation of piglets, sheep and goats for Ghanaians to rear and make money.  Is this Bole guy the one who thought the Gonjas how to rear these animals? Come again, that is if you can. As for his 24 Hour Economy he continues to beat about the bush. He says footballers will play for 24 hours and discotheques will operate for 24 hours nonstop. That stands to reason that if he comes back to power, Ghana will become a country of swinging safari youth who will spend 24 hours jamming at the discos.

Mr. Mahama complained bitterly when some men of God prayed for Dr. Bawumia. Before we could say Jack Robin, his team of shameless gang of desperate politicians wrote to some men of God to also assemble and pray for the same man who complained. In the case of JDM, he was given a pillow for him to lean on while pastors put their hands on his head to pray for him.  Even the Pope will never kneel on a pillow to pray. I don’t want to believe the Disciples of Christ carried along a pillow to lay down for the Lord to kneel on it and pray.  That is why Chinua Achebe, the celebrated late writer, wrote in his bestselling novel, Things Fall Apart, said those to whom the gods want to kill, they first make him mad.

As for the Sex for Grade Professor who is making ugly noises in the run up to the December 7 elections, I am crafting a piece for him.  He will have to go for a crush helmet because it is going to be bombastic. I stopped puffing cigar for the past three years but because of him I have ordered a pack of custom made Havana Cigar from Cuba, where I once sojourned. Full stop
