The leadership of Musicians’ Organisation Global (MUSIGLO) has announced plans to organise an awards ceremony dubbed “Global Music and Creative Entrepreneurship Awards (MUSIGLO GMCE Awards) in November 2025 to reward industry players.
The organisation revealed that the launch of the maiden edition of the MUSIGLO GMCE Awards scheme is scheduled for Saturday, November 30 in Accra, with venue to be announced soon.
Creative arts industry stakeholders, musicians, choir groups among others are expected to attend the official launch which promises to be a memorable evening full of moving speeches, dazzling entertainment, and celebrity sightings.
The awards scheme will honour outstanding creative arts industry players, and creative entrepreneurs, who have contributed to the growth of the industry.
According to the organisers, celebrated musicians such as Obouba J.A. Adofo, Nana Aboagye Dacosta, Rev. Mensah Bonsu, Nana Buckman, Mama Efe and Dinah Hammond are expected to perform at the ceremony.
Some selected bands, choral groups, traditional and cultural groups, which include the Methodist Evangel Choir, Ghana Adventist Singing Groups Association (GASGA), Ndwomkro Cultural Groups and MUSIGLO Ensemble, among others, will also perform.
In an interview with BEATWAVES, the President of MUSIGLO, Mrs. Deborah Freeman Danquah, highlighted that MUSIGLO aims to celebrate musicians and creative entrepreneurs, recognising their talents, hard work, and creativity, thereby increasing their visibility and credibility, which can skyrocket their career.
She indicated that the MUSIGLO GMCE Awards will be organised every year to celebrate music stakeholders for their hard work and outstanding creativity.
The categories include Artiste of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Best International Collaboration, Best Songwriter, Best Inspirational Gospel Song, Best Inspirational Choral Song, Best Soloist and Best Evangelism Choral Group.
Others are Best Live Band, Best Traditional Music Group, Best Entertainment Journalist/ Blogger, Best Music Promoter, Best Music Producer, Best MUSIGLO Ambassador and MUSIGLO Star Member among other categories.
MUSIGLO is a global organisation headquartered in Ghana, with chapters in the USA, Canada, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and other countries.
It was established for the purposes of organising musicians and creative entrepreneurs across the globe and championing their socioeconomic rights and welfare, thus fostering an enabling environment for creative entrepreneurs to thrive in a globalised economy.
Among MUSIGLO’s key activities are developing musical and creative talents, promoting music and creativity, presenting awards, training and capacity building, and ensuring fair wages, legal support, proper royalty collection, welfare systems, among others for its members.
