Akomadan Chief Endorses Bawumia

The Omanhene of Akomadan Traditional Area, Nana Boakye Akuamoah Boateng II, has endorsed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in this year’s presidential election.

The traditional ruler praised the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for his exceptional leadership, numerous initiatives, and selfless acts, describing him as intelligent, visionary, and deserving of leadership.

The paramount chief made the remarks when Dr. Bawumia met with key stakeholders at Nkenkenso in the Offinso North Constituency, as part of his Ashanti Region tour, which was on its second day.

Nana Akuamoah Boateng II specifically highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s efforts toward a digital revolution, which he believes will advance Ghana, and his kindness to the needy, such as building a house for a poor woman in the Upper West Region.

The Omanhene also commended Dr. Bawumia’s humility, noting his birthday celebrations with lepers. He described Dr. Bawumia as “an exception among all the Vice Presidents Ghana has ever produced,” adding that his achievements for the nation are “beyond comprehension.”

“The digital revolution he is trying to bring to the country is something that will help develop Ghana because that is the path every developed country followed. Some will say we should wait for the next 20 years, but he knows it is possible because we can do it,” the paramount chief asserted.

Recalling with nostalgia, he said, “Some time back, I heard of something he had done, and I shed tears. That was when he went to build a house for a poor woman in the Upper West Region.”

An emotional Nana Akuamoah Boateng admitted, “I was touched, and I said to myself, this is a true leader.” He added, “How he managed to identify the poor old lady in that remote area is what surprised me.”

For this reason, he told Dr. Bawumia, “You are simply human with a sense of fellow-feeling and deserve to lead this country.”

“This is a man who celebrates his birthday by not only throwing a party for lepers but actually sitting and eating with them. Selfless people like this are not easy to come by,” he said in praise of the NPP flagbearer.

The Omanhene further described Dr. Bawumia as intelligent and visionary, noting that he leads with love and a deep sense of compassion. He also expressed gratitude to the government for the many projects brought to the area.

He promised to pray for Dr. Bawumia, saying, “May the Lord bless your going out and coming in, and keep you safely for Ghana, to enable you to continue the good works you have been doing beyond this election.”

Though he acknowledged that chiefs traditionally do not engage in politics, Nana Akuamoah Boateng remarked, “Someone will say I’m doing politics, but it is the truth I am speaking.”

Before concluding, the chief asked, “Where is he on the ballot paper?” The crowd responded, “Number one,” followed by the chief asking, “So, people of Offinso North, what will you do?” to which they responded, “We will vote number one.
