Gospel singer Great Ampong has urged members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to brace themselves for another electoral defeat in the upcoming 2024 general election.
Speaking in an interview on Property FM with Amansan Krakye, the musician expressed confidence that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would retain power.
Ampong humorously advised NDC supporters to prepare for the shock by stocking up on toilet rolls, claiming many of them would experience “runny stomachs” when the election results are announced.
“We know that by all means, NDC will lose this election, so they should start preparing their minds towards that and be patient,” he stated. “Everyone should be steadfast to ensure a peaceful election. When your party loses, just be calm.”
The gospel artiste emphasised the importance of maintaining peace during and after the elections, calling on the NDC to accept the results in good faith for the country’s continued progress under the NPP.
The 2024 elections are expected to be a fiercely contested race between the ruling NPP and the opposition NDC, as both parties seek to secure the mandate of the Ghanaian electorate.
