The Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) has officially launched its electronic gazette application system (e-Gazette), an online platform designed to minimise human interaction in the processing of gazettes for customers.

This innovative system aims to enhance accessibility by allowing customers to easily access official documents and publications from anywhere, at any time.

By bridging geographical gaps, the e-Gazette enhances efficiency while minimising the risk of errors and delays.

Managing Director of GPCL, David Asante, emphasised that the transition from paper to a digitised system aligns with the transformative agenda of Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s digitalisation drive in the country.

Upon assuming office, Mr. Asante noted that the board of directors and management have initiated several transformational agendas aimed at restoring GPCL’s prominence in the printing and publishing industry.

This agenda, he said, is anchored on three pillars: infrastructure development, technological advancement, and service digitalisation.

“As part of our commitment to modernisation, we have established a new production unit with modern equipment in Kumasi and created an IT directory to spearhead our technological advancements. Today, we are taking a significant step forward with the launch of the e-Gazette,” he stated.

Mr. Asante highlighted that the e-Gazette will reduce costs by eliminating the need for physical storage and distribution, benefiting both the company and its customers.

He added that the electronic gazette enables customers to track the publication of official documents and updates in real-time, promoting transparency and accountability through a clear record of all publications.

This initiative reflects GPCL’s dedication to innovation and enhancing customer satisfaction through convenient, efficient, and transparent access to official documents.

Minister for Public Enterprises, Joseph Cudjoe, emphasised the numerous digitalisation policies championed by the ruling NPP government, which have transformed the digital ecosystem.

He mentioned key initiatives such as the National Identification Card (Ghana Card), Digital Address System (Ghana Post GPS), Universal QR Code Payment System (Gh QR), E-Pharmacy Platform, and now, the e-Gazette platform.

Mr. Cudjoe added that with the launch of this digital platform, applying for a gazette is now a hassle-free process.

“To access GPCL’s services, individuals simply need to visit their website at www.ghanapublishing.com and follow the straightforward process. You can do this from the comfort of your office or home,” he noted.

The minister commended the management and staff of GPCL for their exceptional efforts in ensuring seamless operations within the company.
