Fameye
The management of musician, Fameye, has cleared its artiste of any wrongdoing in the controversy surrounding his disrupted performance at the ‘Xmas Highlife Concert’ in London on December 15, 2024.
A viral video captured the ‘Praise’ hitmaker visibly upset and confronting the DJ and organisers during his set.
Fameye’s frustration stemmed from the DJ’s failure to play his requested songs and versions, despite having rehearsed with him three times before the show. The technical mishap eventually forced Fameye to leave the stage.
In a statement issued on December 16, 2024, Fameye’s team blamed the incident on the event’s DJ, calling his actions “unprofessional” and “disrespectful.”
“While we understand that technical issues and miscommunications can arise in live performances, the level of unprofessionalism displayed was disappointing and disrespectful to both Fameye and his loyal fans,” the statement read.
The management revealed they had proposed bringing Fameye’s official DJ from Ghana or Belgium to avoid such problems. However, the organisers insisted on using their DJ, who, according to Fameye’s team, fell short of the artiste’s standards.
“Sadly, this decision has come at a great cost, as it impacted Fameye’s ability to deliver the outstanding performance we had promised his fans,” the statement added.
Fameye’s team apologised to fans for the incident and called on event organisers to maintain professionalism in handling artistes and performances.
“As we move forward, we urge event organisers and their teams to uphold the highest standards of professionalism to ensure that every artiste and fan is treated with respect and dignity,” the statement concluded.
The event organisers have yet to comment on the allegations.
