New MMDCEs List Out

 

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated 29 persons for appointment to the office of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936).

The announcement, contained in a letter dated April 23, 2025, and addressed to the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, was signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama. It indicated that the appointments are subject to approval by the respective Assemblies.

The nominees hail from the Savannah, Bono East, and Greater Accra regions. In the Savannah Region, Abdulai Mahmud was nominated for Bole Bamboi, while Thomas Masud Musah Ayaaba was nominated for Atebubu-Amantin in Bono East. From the Greater Accra Region, nominations include Ignatius Godfred Dordoe for Shai Osudoku, Samuel Tetteh Kwarshie Morton for Kpone Katamanso, Raphael Uriel Nartey for Ningo Prampram, Freeman Tsekpo for Ashaiman, Ella Esinam Nongo for Adentan, John Desmond Sowah Nai for Ga West, and Edmund Agboh for Ga East.

Other nominees in the Greater Accra Region include Moses Kabu Kabi Ocansey for Ga South, Akwetey Agbo for Ga North, Emmanuel Adotey Allotey for Ga Central, Jerry John Foreigner Mills-Nkrumah for Ada West, Kenneth Kabu Kanor for Ada East, and Michael Mensah for Ayawaso West Wuogon. Haruna Mohammed Awal was nominated for Ayawaso North, Rudolph Collingwoode-Williams for Ayawaso Central, Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim for Ayawaso East, Frank Nkansah for Ablekuma Central, Adamu Mussah Kalamu for Ablekuma North, George Kpakpo Allotey for Ablekuma West, and Christian Tetteh Badger for Okaikwei North.

The rest are Felix Odartey Lamptey for Weija Gbawe, Israel Adjetey Otchwemah for Ledzokuku, Paul Afotey Quaye for Krowor, Alfredos Nii Anyetei for La Dadekotopon, Ludwig Teye Totimeh for Tema West, Bright Ebi for Tema Metropolitan, Ibrahim F. Faila for La Nkwantanang, Michael Kpakpo Allotey for Accra Metropolitan, and Alfred Gaisie for Korle Klottey.
