President John Dramani Mahama and the First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, have sponsored the construction of ten legacy temples for the Assemblies of God, Ghana, the denomination to which they both belong.

Each temple is equipped with a fully furnished two-bedroom residence for the pastor, an office, musical instruments, and 150 chairs. The initiative fulfills a vow the President and his wife made during the 2024 General Council meeting of Assemblies of God, Ghana, held in Navrongo.

In addition to the ten temples, the First Couple also refurbished an eleventh temple for the Bole Assembly of God in President Mahama’s hometown.

The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, expressed deep gratitude to the President and his wife for matching their pre-election pledge with concrete action.

According to Rev. Wengam, the Legacy Temple Project is “a clarion and Macedonian call on individuals, families, institutions, agencies, business entities, and churches to sponsor the construction of temples for newly planted congregations, especially those in rural areas or for churches that lack the means to build their own places of worship.”

He appealed for broader support to enable the church to expand its presence and spread the gospel in every village, town, and city across the country.
