Kennedy Agyapong addressing party supporters
Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong says he is capable of transforming the economic fortunes of the country through job creation, especially for the youth.
Mr. Agyapong, who made the call when he filed his nomination forms at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down yesterday, said he would be able to achieve that given his creative potential to create businesses.
He said, “”We want somebody who can create businesses for the youth of this country. Some people have ideas. But I have bold ideas and creativity.”
Scores of supporters of the former MP, holding placards with various inscriptions and chanting “No Ken, No vote”, massed up at about 11 am to show their solidarity to the flagbearer hopeful, while two others are yet to file their nominations to contest in the party’s flagbearer race scheduled for January 31, 2026.
Kennedy Agyapong, who contested against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2023 presidential primary, garnered 37% while the former Vice President obtained 61.47% of the total votes to become the flagbearer of the NPP in the 2024 election.
