Industry players from various sectors driving innovation, corporate governance, and economic development were recognised for their achievements at the 5th National Governance & Business Leadership Awards (NGBLA).
The annual event, organised by the Governance & Business Boardroom, and held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra, was themed, ‘Transforming Ghana through Visionary Governance and Enterprise Excellence.’
Presenting the keynote address on behalf of the Chief of Staff, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, highlighted the 24-hour economy which she said has been the game changer in governance and business leadership.
“The 24-Hour Economy has always been a game changer and we are already seeing results by way of opening up our economy in every sphere and creating more jobs,” she said.
She further highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in governance, citing decisive measures taken to stop leakages and block financial hemorrhages.
“I know you don’t expect this night of awards and dining to be about anti-corruption. But corruption has always stood in the way of good governance,” she stated.
With several categories and awards up for grabs, the night was filled with thrilling music and presentations, with key players in the industry receiving various awards for their contribution towards sustainable development in the country.
Chief Executive Officer, OA & J Pharmaceuticals Limited, Jagdish Maheshwari received the CEO of the year award in recognition of his significant contributions to the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing & Health Impact industry.
