Prince David Osei
Ghanaian actor and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) sympathiser, Prince David Osei, has praised Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for publicly acknowledging mistakes made under the NPP administration and asking for the nation’s forgiveness.
In an Instagram post, Prince described Bawumia as “a visionary leader, humble and grounded” for admitting to past missteps. “Government is of the people, by the people, and for the people. It takes a leader like Dr. Bawumia to acknowledge past mistakes and sincerely apologise to the nation. God bless you, Sir @mbawumia. It’s highly possible,” the actor wrote.
However, Prince David also expressed concern over recent reports of citizens being unlawfully arrested for exercising their constitutional right to free speech. He questioned the irony of leaders who once “incited vandalism, chaos, violence, hate speech, and ethnic division” now turning against citizens for similar actions.
“Is it fair to say the very dogs they bred are now barking back at them?” he asked, adding: “The revolution will not be televised. Silence should never be mistaken for weakness. True democracy is rooted in freedom of expression, a value we’ve always upheld in Ghana. God is the Greatest. Long live Ghana.”
