The Volta Region will host the 41st edition of the National Farmers Day celebration, scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2025, under the theme, “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future.”
The announcement was made by the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, during a press soiree in Ho.
He described the selection as an honour and opportunity for the region to highlight its vast agricultural potential and rich cultural heritage.
Gunu stated that the annual celebration remains a crucial platform for recognising the hard work and contributions of farmers and fishermen toward national food security, economic growth, and sustainable development.
“This is a proud moment for the Volta Region as we are blessed with fertile land and dedicated farmers, and hosting this year’s celebration gives us the chance to display our agricultural strength to the entire nation,” he said.
The Regional Minister called on traditional authorities, farmer associations, private sector stakeholders, and residents to actively support and participate in the event, which will be held alongside the Volta Trade Fair.
The fair will feature local products, innovative technologies, and agribusiness opportunities aimed at promoting regional economic growth.
Mr. Gunu also revealed that all district and municipal assemblies across the region will organise their local Farmers’ Day programme a week prior to the national celebration to honour outstanding farmers and agripreneurs at the community level.
The 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration is expected to attract high-profile dignitaries, policymakers, agricultural experts, and exhibitors from across the country.
The week-long activities will include exhibitions, award ceremonies, cultural performances, and policy discussions focused on advancing Ghana’s agricultural transformation agenda.
