Rune Skinnebach exchanging pleasantries with former President Nana Akufo-Addo
A delegation from the European Union (EU) on Monday paid a courtesy call on former President Nana Akufo-Addo, to strengthen the long-standing ties of friendship as well as discuss issues on Africa’s development.
The delegation, led by the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Ghana, Rune Skinnebach, discussed matters relating to the shared roles between the two countries in promoting peace and stability, democratic governance and economic development in Africa.
They also discussed matters on shared values and commitment to democracy and freedom, as well as challenges within the sub-region, including trade and economic relations between Africa and the European Union.
“Today, I received a courtesy visit from the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ghana, H.E. Ambassador, Rune Skinnebach and his team.
“Our discussion focused on strengthening the long-standing ties of friendship and cooperation between Ghana and the European Union and on our shared roles in promoting peace and stability, democratic governance and economic development in Africa,” the former President wrote on his Facebook page.
A delegation from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, led by Frederik Landshöft, earlier also paid a courtesy call on Akufo-Addo at his office to discuss continued solidarity between Ghana and the Federal Republic of Germany and European Union.
