Three out of six suspected armed robbers involved in the recent robbery incident in Ashiaman have succumbed to their injuries, while the remaining three suspects, believed to have sustained gunshot wounds, managed to flee the scene.
This follows the Tema Regional Police Command’s successful foiling of an attempted robbery at Community 24 within the Adjei-Kojo District in the Ashaiman Division of the Tema Region.
According to a police report, the robbery incident occurred on Sunday, December 21st, 2025, at about 1:30 a.m. at a private residence within the Community 24 vicinity.
The police said they acted promptly on intelligence and a police team moved to the scene to intervene.
“Upon arrival, the police encountered six young men, all wearing face masks and hoodies, and armed with machetes, guns, and other offensive weapons. The suspects opened fire on the police, who returned fire. During the exchange of gunfire, three of the suspects were fatally wounded and later succumbed to their injuries, while the remaining three suspects, believed to have sustained gunshot wounds, managed to flee the scene,” part of the statement read.
The police said they have retrieved three face masks, three machetes, and one unregistered Royal 125 motorbike.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased suspects have been conveyed to the Police Hospital for preservation, identification, and autopsy.
