Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmus, has taken a shot at a playful comment by fellow actress Funke Akindele.

In a short viral video, Funke Akindele jokingly accused Badmus of using government funds to buy expensive jewellery. The remark quickly drew attention due to Badmus’ recent political appointment as Special Assistant on Social Events and Public Hearing to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.

Known for her humour, Funke Akindele teased her friend in the clip, saying, “You used all the government money to buy jewellery.”

Responding immediately, Eniola Badmus denied the claim, stating that she has never used government funds for personal luxury.

“Your money isn’t in my hands, please. I don’t know what you’re talking about. Everything I’m wearing is locally made. I used my own money to buy them,” she said.

Badmus stressed that her jewellery, bags and other accessories were purchased with her hard-earned income. She also noted that her fashion choices support local designers, as most of the items she wears are made in Nigeria.

Although the exchange was clearly light-hearted between the two actresses, it generated widespread reactions.
