Swedru All Blacks Coach Steps Down, Cites Personal Reasons

Ahmed Fathi

Swedru All Blacks head coach Ahmed Fathi has resigned from his role, bringing an end to his brief spell in charge of the Ghana Premier League side due to personal reasons.

The Egyptian tactician was appointed shortly after the club secured promotion back to the top flight, tasking him with guiding the Black Magicians through a demanding return to elite competition and restoring stability within the squad.

Fathi’s tenure, however, was not without challenges. A difficult start to the season led to growing pressure, with sections of the club’s supporters openly calling for his dismissal. Despite the early criticism, the team showed signs of recovery and resilience, climbing the table to finish ninth at the midway point of the campaign.

Confirming his decision in a message shared on social media on Saturday, Fathi expressed gratitude to the fans and reiterated his respect for the club and its leadership.

He thanked supporters for their encouragement and explained that his decision to step aside was based purely on personal considerations, while also wishing Swedru All Blacks continued success going forward.

As of now, the Ghana Premier League club has not officially announced or commented on the coach’s departure, leaving questions over who will take charge of the team for the remainder of the season.
