Faithful Stewardship Key To National Devt – PCC

Ordained Twum Barima

The Pentecostal Church of Christ (PCC) has taken a strong position on governance urging political leaders to demonstrate loyalty, discipline and accountability in the management of public resources.

The call was made by the Senior Pastor and General Secretary of the church, Ordained Twum Barima, who said the theme for 2026, “My Year of Faithful’ drawn from Matthew 25:23, is a direct message to those entrusted with authority, particularly in public office. He made these remarks in an interview with DAILY GUIDE on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

He explained that while the theme primarily applies to the church, it equally speaks to national leadership, stressing that Ghana’s development depends largely on how faithfully leaders manage the responsibilities placed in their hands.

Ordained Barima recalled that the church’s 2025 theme was “Possessing Our Possession,” taken from Obadiah 1:17, and expressed gratitude to God for seeing the church through the year.

Commending the leadership of the Pentecostal Church of Christ — including elders, apostles, senior pastors, deacons and deaconesses — he noted that faithful leadership remains the foundation of growth in any institution.

According to him, faithfulness, which he described as synonymous with loyalty, is the missing link in Ghana’s governance challenges. Referring to the biblical parable of the talents, he said leaders who manage national resources faithfully will multiply development outcomes, while negligence and disregard for responsibility only lead to stagnation.

He pointed out that the country is abundantly blessed with natural resources such as gold, diamonds, manganese and cocoa, but warned that these blessings will only translate into progress if leaders act as faithful stewards.

The PCC General Secretary urged political office holders, public servants and traditional authorities to put national interest above personal gain in 2026.

Ordained Barima concluded by calling on Ghanaians to hold leaders accountable and to support governance that is rooted in faithfulness, loyalty and selfless service to the nation.
