Christiana Awuni, The Late Daddy Lumba
Actress, Christiana Awuni has publicly criticised the family of late highlife legend Daddy Lumba over their ongoing dispute, calling their actions selfish and damaging to his legacy.
Speaking on Aluta FM with Fiifi Pratt on February 12, 2026, Awuni said she had never met Lumba personally but deeply respects his music. She admitted surprise at the controversy, noting she only knew of Odo Broni and was unaware that Akosua Serwaa was his first wife.
“I haven’t met him before, but I love his music. I never knew of Akosua Serwaa being his first wife; I had only seen Odo Broni,” she said.
She expressed disappointment at how the family feud has played out publicly, saying it has tarnished Lumba’s name.
“All I can say is I was so disappointed in the family for starting this mess and allowing people to talk about the man and drag his name into the mud,” Christiana Awuni stated.
She also singled out Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, urging him to have intervened earlier instead of letting the dispute escalate.
“The people involved in this are in it for their own selfish interest. As long as Lumba receives royalties for his music, they will never stop. It was not because of love for Lumba or love for his wives. They just want money,” she added.
