A 42-year-old man, Simon Apusiga, alias Ananga, has been arrested in connection with the robbery and murder of a police officer at Zebilla in the Upper East Region.
Apusiga was arrested on February 10, 2026, at his hideout in Tarkwa Huni Valley, Western Region, following an intelligence-led operation by a special team deployed by the Inspector-General of Police.
According to preliminary investigations, Apusiga fled Zebilla shortly after the incident and was traced to the Western Region.
He is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, and will face court. Efforts are underway to arrest other suspects involved.
