The Ghana Police Service has arrested a woman in connection with the alleged theft of a newborn at the Mamprobi Polyclinic in Accra, and the baby has been safely recovered.
The suspected baby thief, caught on CCTV, was arrested by the Dansoman Police for allegedly stealing a newborn from Mamprobi Polyclinic.
A resident at the Dansoman Police Station has revealed that the suspect was tracked down through her own sister.
According to the source, the suspect called her sister, claiming she had given birth and invited her over.
However, the sister, aware of reports about a missing baby, recognized the infant as the one allegedly stolen from the Mamprobi Polyclinic and alerted authorities, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
