Black Stars Select Bryant University As World Cup Base

Bryant University training pitch

Ghana’s Black Stars have chosen Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, as their base camp for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, according to NBC 10 News.

With less than four months to the tournament, the team will use the university’s facilities to sharpen preparations ahead of a demanding group-stage campaign. The partnership is expected to be formally announced by Ocean State 2026 at a news conference this week, marking a significant moment for the local community.

Bryant University was selected for its high-quality training pitches, modern accommodation and quieter setting away from major metropolitan distractions. Sources say the infrastructure and privacy offered by the campus were key factors in Ghana’s decision.

Drawn in Group L, the Black Stars face a tough challenge against the England national football team, the Croatia national football team, and the Panama national football team.

This marks Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance. Their most memorable run came in 2010 in South Africa, where they reached the quarter-finals before suffering a dramatic exit to Uruguay.

The team’s stay is expected to boost local interest, with possible open training sessions and community engagement activities.
