Fatao Nuhu, lying in a pool of blood

A 26-YEAR-old ex-convict has been found dead besides a busy road in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, prompting an immediate police action to find his killers to face the law.

The lifeless body of Fatao Nuhu was reportedly found lying on the shoulder of the road from Oforikrom, a densely populated area, to Amakom, at 6:30 a.m. on March 1, 2026.

There were wounds on his body, especially his face, an indication that perhaps he was butchered to death by some people, who later on absconded to avert arrest.

Manhyia Divisional Police statement disclosed that the body has since been deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy, as police are still hunting for the killers.

“On 01/03/2026 at about 0705 hours, one Nuhu Iddrisu of Oforikrom, accompanied by his friend Abubakar Abdul, reported to the Oforikrom Police Station that today, 01/03/2026, at about 0630 hours, while he was in the house, a tricycle rider came to inform him that he had seen the lifeless body of a young man at Unity Oil, on the road leading to Amakom, suspected to be his son, Fatao Nuhu.

“Upon receipt of the report, police, together with the complainant, rushed to the scene and found the lifeless body of a young man, aged about 26 years, lying in a supine position in a pool of blood, wearing blue jeans trousers and a black jacket, with multiple deep cutlass wounds on the face.

“The deceased was identified as Fatao Nuhu, an ex-convict,” Manhyia Divisional Police statement, which has been sighted by the DAILY GUIDE noted, adding that police investigations are underway.

“Photographs were taken, and the body was conveyed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) mortuary for preservation and autopsy. Efforts are being made to reach the District Coroner for his information and directives,” the report said.
