Mighty Maame
Ghana’s fast-rising content creator, Dorothy Acquah, also known as the mother of famous TikToker Mighty Osei Asibey (Mighty Maame), has revealed that she is among the thousands of Ghanaians who lost their investments in Menzgold Ghana Limited, founded by Nana Appiah Mensah, known as NAM1.
Speaking on Onua Showtime late night entertainment programme hosted by media personality Nana Ama McBrown, Mighty Maame disclosed that “previously I was a cook, but now all my investments are locked up with NAM 1, so now I don’t have any current employment. I live off from benevolent support from my loved ones and fans who watch my craft.”
She continued, “After losing everything, I was very worried but had to manage my depression, as many have died following the collapse of the investment scheme. I needed to stay alive and take care of my children, and this is how far the Lord has brought me.”
Nana Ama McBrown has pledged to support Mighty Maame in getting back on her feet by signing her as a team member for her ambassadorial deals.
Menzgold Ghana Limited, a gold dealership and investment firm that promised customers an average of 7-10 percent monthly returns on investments, has been charged with fraud and currently in court.
It was shut down by the Government of Ghana. The firm is reported to have initially traded as Menzbank, then changed to Menzbanc, and then finally to Menzgold, due to warnings from the Bank of Ghana about the use of ‘bank’ as a company name for a non-banking entity.
As of 2025, NAM1 has been summoned before the High Court to face trial.
