A 36-year-old man has been killed in a violent confrontation over a woman at Offinso in the Ashanti Region.
The deceased, Kwabena Anokye, reportedly died following a bloody clash with one Akwasi Anyam, who is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
Sources in the area disclosed that the incident was triggered by a love triangle involving a woman identified as Adwubi. The late Anokye was said to have had a child with her before she ended the relationship and later moved on to be with Anyam.
Unable to accept the separation, Anokye allegedly confronted Anyam over the issue, leading to a heated argument that escalated into a physical fight.
The two reportedly engaged in a violent struggle using machetes, during which Anokye sustained fatal injuries. Anyam also suffered machete wounds in the process.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the morgue pending autopsy.
Meanwhile, information gathered by the Daily Guide indicates that arrangements have already been made for Anokye’s one-week observation. A poster for the ceremony is already out, with the event scheduled to take place at Offinso.
Police at Offinso have commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
