EOCO Detains Dr. Sledge’s Wife Over MIIF Probe

Queen Amadia

Queen Amadia, wife of businessman Nana Yaw Duodu, popularly known as Dr. Sledge, has been arrested and detained by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) at Kotoka International Airport amid ongoing investigations involving her husband.

The arrest is linked to a $94 million corruption scandal and transactions with the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) between 2020 and 2024.

She was arrested on May 12, 2026 while allegedly attempting to leave the country amid ongoing investigations involving Dr. Sledge by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) over transactions linked to the Minerals Income Investment Fund.

EOCO hasn’t officially confirmed the arrest or outlined possible charges as investigations are ongoing, with authorities gathering evidence.

Queen Amadia is known for her extravagant lifestyle. Some of her lavish possessions include a custom purple Rolls-Royce Cullinan worth over $450,000. She is said to own multiple high-end properties, including a 5-bedroom mansion at Airport Hills.

She often attends high-profile events, like Sarkodie’s Rapperholic concert, where Dr. Sledge arrived with a motorcade of luxury vehicles, including a Ferrari 458 Italia, Bentley Flying Spur, and Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

Nana Yaw Duodu was arrested on September 30, 2025, over suspected corruption and corruption-related offences linked to the Minerals Income Investment Fund, particularly concerning the management of its gold trade programme.

He was previously arrested and released, after which he threw a party and gifted his wife a Rolls-Royce.

The OSP, in its half-year report, listed investigations into the Minerals Income Investment Fund among its high-profile cases. The investigation covers payments linked to Agyapa Royalties, small-scale mining initiatives, lithium and gold projects, board expenditures, land acquisitions, and related contracts between 2020 and 2024.

The OSP stated that the probe focuses on suspected corruption and corruption-related offences regarding MIIF’s operations within the period under review.

The investigations particularly involve payments made in connection with Agyapa Royalties Limited, the Small Scale Mining Incubation Programme (SSMIP), the Quarry Value Addition Programme (QVAP), lithium asset investments, the Enchi Gold Project, and other MIIF-related activities.
