TikToker Arrested Over Mahama ‘Death Threats’

A FEMALE TikToker, Mahama Aminat, has been arrested for allegedly threatening the life of President John Dramani Mahama on social media.

The suspect, who is nicknamed ‘Akosua Serwaa Minat’, also hurled unprintable words at the First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama

In a viral video on various social media platforms, the suspect verbally attacked the first family without provocation, and allegedly incited members of the public to attack both the President and his wife, sparking public anger.

Even some of her followers on Tiktok, reportedly, condemned her weird attitude and called for the authorities concerned to reprimand her.

Serwaa Minat was picked up by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) in a joint operation with the Surveillance Unit of the National Operations Department at Sekyere Zongo in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Her arrest was posted on the Ghana Police Service’s official Facebook page.

According to the report, the suspect, who is still in police custody, would be arraigned in the coming days after thorough interrogation by the police.

The Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to dealing decisively with persons who use social media platforms to issue threats, spread offensive content or endanger public peace and national security.
