POPULAR DIGITAL Content Creator and Podcaster, Tracy Serwaah Akoto-Sasu, known in showbiz as Ginger, is trending for all the wrong reasons after a fiery rant about men and marriage went viral online.
The backlash started after Ginger, on the Bants & Rants show, said any man who has to ask his parents for rent money is “not ready for marriage.”
Things got hotter when a Snapchat message allegedly from Ginger responding to a critic surfaced on X and Snapchat. “Na hwan nie? Look at this. Who told you that 30+ is a cut off point for dating? Save that pressure for men-obsessed pick-mes who are desperate for marriage,” she wrote.
“I don’t use men for NOTHING. I can be 50+ and still be accepting CVs. Too saa till you turn 30+ plus and you rather start sending your CVs to guys. Y’all piss me off so much ngl. I Am A 10. I Do The Picking (sic).”
Ginger doubled down, telling women not to let anyone shame them over age or marriage. “Marriage is a beautiful, amazing thing, a blessing from God and if it happens for you then fine, congratulations and God bless your new home. But DO NOT let anyone use it to shame you or frustrate you because it’s not an achievement. I can’t wait till I’m actually 30+. Then y’all will see. They say life begins at 40, you didn’t hear? Shaming them for what? Not dying? Tsw.
“This lil nigga trying to humble me like I am not a plus to any man I mingle with. I am educated, HOT ASF, famous and a 10. So stfu and send your CV. Over here I do the picking, you go know (sic).”
The comments sparked debate online, with many calling her statement “misandry” while others praised her for speaking her truth.
Nimo Brown US wrote, “‘I don’t use men for anything’ Ginger thinks she’s every man’s spec herh awurade. It’s okay the CID has my notifications on. Hm (sic).”
Big Guller also stated, “Sake of you dey work for Kwadwo Sheldon Studios (KSS) you think say you be famous? Girls nu bi adwen da fam too much (sic).”
Witta Professor added, “They’re always this loud till they actually get to that point. We wait.”
