Efia Odo
Actress and socialite, Efia Odo, has explained why she has become less vocal in publicly criticising the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
Her comments came after a social media user questioned why she no longer speaks against what they described as poor governance under the NDC, despite her strong criticism of the previous administration.
Responding on X, Efia Odo said her views and approach to political accountability have changed with age and experience.
She explained that constantly attacking politicians publicly does not necessarily produce the change she wants to see in society.
“Because I’ve grown. I’ve realised that constantly attacking politicians publicly doesn’t always create the change I want to see. With age comes maturity, and my approach has evolved,” she wrote.
Efia Odo added that she does not want to be drawn into partisan political battles or feel pressured to attack one political party simply to prove that she is holding leaders accountable.
“I no longer want to be used as a pawn in political battles or feel like I have to attack one party to prove I’m holding leaders accountable,” she added.
The actress was particularly outspoken during the previous administration, frequently using her social media platforms to criticise government policies and raise concerns about governance.
