Fix Traffic Lights First – Efia Odo Tells Police

Socialite, Efia Odo, has questioned the rollout of the Ghana Police Service’s TRAFFITECH-GH initiative, saying authorities should fix faulty traffic lights before spending money on traffic cameras.

TRAFFITECH-GH aims to use technology to monitor road users and enforce traffic regulations as part of efforts to curb indiscipline on the roads.

But Efia Odo believes fixing basic road infrastructure should be given priority.

In a post on X yesterday, September 30, she questioned why resources were going to cameras when some traffic lights across the country weren’t working.

“Traffic lights don’t even work, but somehow y’all have a budget to install cameras? Great idea, but how ’bout we get the lights to work first!!” she wrote.

Her comments have drawn attention to the need to address existing road infrastructure challenges alongside the introduction of technology-driven traffic enforcement.
