Widow of late Highlife musician,Daddy Lumba, Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni, has marked his posthumous 62nd birthday by supporting patients at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Odo Broni, alongside Daddy Lumba’s sister, Faustina Fosu, family members and friends, paid the medical bills of some new mothers and supported mothers whose children are undergoing cancer treatment.
She also settled the bills of all mothers who delivered at the hospital on September 29.
According to Odo Broni, the gesture was inspired by the death of her mother-in-law, Comfort Ama Saah Gyamfi, who died from leukaemia.
“My mother-in-law had leukaemia and died, and anytime my late husband spoke about her, he wept. That’s why I have come to donate money to mothers whose children are battling cancer,” she said.
Each mother who received the cancer-related support was given GH¢3,000.
Odo Broni said the gesture was her way of honouring Daddy Lumba’s memory and celebrating his enduring musical legacy.
Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, died on July 26, 2025, aged 60.
