Gospel musician, Diana Hamilton, has emerged as the most awarded Ghanaian female artiste of all time.

The data, provided by Charts Ghana – the country’s leading music chart platform – places Diana Hamilton at the top of the league with 36 awards, including honours from the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, Ghana Music Awards UK, USA, and Europe, among others.

Charts Ghana clarified that its all-time awards data is based on a defined tracking framework covering 52 award schemes, with priority given to awards that meet its internal tracking objectives and for which reliable records have been established.

“The omission of an award scheme from our current tracking does not automatically mean we consider it irrelevant, illegitimate, or unworthy of recognition,” the platform stated.

“Different awards have different histories, selection processes, levels of industry impact, and standards of documentation. These are factors we consider when determining what to include in our database. Our objective is not simply to accumulate the largest possible numbers.

“It is to build a credible, consistent, and well-documented record of award achievements across Ghanaian music. We also recognise that historical award records can be fragmented, particularly for older ceremonies and awards with limited publicly accessible documentation,” it added.

According to the chart, Efya Nokturnal follows in second place with 17 awards. Piesie Esther – 15, Becca – 14, MzVee – 13, Wendy Shay – 12, Moliy – 12, Adina Thembi – 12, Ebony Reigns – 11, Ohemaa Mercy – 9, Wiyaala – 9.

Completing the top 20 are Gyakie – 8, Celestine Donkor – 8, Empress Gifty – 8, Eno Barony – 7, Obaapa Christy – 7, Daughters of Glorious Jesus – 6, Esther Smith – 6, Amaarae – 6, and Cina Soul – 6.
