The South East Ghana Union Mission (SEGUM) of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church has held its maiden Communication Content Creators Summit to equip digital communicators with practical skills to strengthen the church’s online presence and digital evangelism.
A statement issued on Friday, October 16, 2026 by the Director of Communications of SEGUM, Samuel K. Dorgbetor, said the four-day summit, held from October 12 to 15, 2026 at the Valley View University, brought together 41 participants from the Union’s six constituent fields for training in digital storytelling, content creation, and visual communication among others.
“Participants include the Meridian Ghana Conference, Volta Ghana Mission, Oti Ghana Mission, Diamond Field Ghana Conference, Eastern View Ghana Conference, and East Ghana Conference,” the statement read.
According to organisers, the summit was also organised to strengthen SEGUM’s contribution to the church’s OneVoice27 initiative, which seeks to mobilise content creators to share gospel messages through digital platforms.
Participants also learned to use editing tools such as CapCut, VN and Canva Video to produce content suitable for digital platforms as well as training in writing captions, creating effective opening hooks, adding subtitles, designing thumbnails and using hashtags and calls to action.
Dr. Solace Yawa Asafo, Communication Director of the South West Ghana Union Conference, facilitated sessions on digital responsibility and ethical communication, while Elder Oswald Agyei-Boateng guided participants through brand positioning and the development of a recognisable digital identity.
Participants also engaged in practical exercises on transforming a single gospel message into multiple formats suitable for different social media platforms.
“The summit also saw the commissioning, commitment, and consecration ceremony co-officiated by Pastor Dr. Nathan Teye Odonkor, Pastor Peter Agyekum, and Pastor Dr. Samuel K. Dorgbetor,” it stated.
