A Plus To Contest Gomoa Central Parliamentary Seat In 2024

Ghanaian musician, Kwame Asare Obeng known in the entertainment space as A Plus, has declared his intention to contest for the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat as an independent candidate in the 2024 General Elections.

He aims to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Naana Eyiah Quansah, who currently holds the position on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.

Speculations are rife that A Plus decision to contest for the seat is to break the NPP’s front to enable the NDC to annex the seat.

Addressing the media after his late father’s funeral, A Plus said that he is confident in his ability to win the seat based on his past contributions to the development of the constituency.

He advised potential aspirants to step aside and let him go unopposed, as victory is assured.

A Plus stated that he intends to become the only independent candidate in Ghana’s parliament, adding that he has more influence than any politician in the constituency.

He called on others to join him in his ambition, suggesting that he may use his position as an MP to help others become District Chief Executives.

The Gomoa Central constituency is located in Ghana’s Central Region and has a population of approximately 136,000 people. A total of 29 candidates contested for the seat in the 2020 General Elections, with Naana Eyiah Quansah emerging as the winner.
