Kwame Baffoe
Bono Region NPP Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, aka Abronye DC, has rebutted spurious claims that he said President Akufo-Addo has failed Ghanaians.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I have not made any such statement that President Akufo-Addo has failed Ghanaians or anything of that sort. On a usual day I would have ignored such a false story attributed to me by an online news portals operated at the social media directorate of the NDC but for good reasons and purposes of clarity, I would like to state without any equivocation that, the story in circulation by some unscrupulous and agenda minded people is completely false.”
Explaining issues, Abronye said he posited that Ghanaians wanted to see the NPP administration dealing more on the cases of those NDC appointees who mismanaged public funds and caused a lot of mess before the NPP assumed office but the President appeared to have been lenient with them.
He said he was of the view that, that was the reason why the NDC after messing the system up is having the guts to turn around to frustrate the President’s good works.
“What I said was that, we want to see the Ku Me Preko style under the NPP government. I said the President was becoming too gentle for the NDC. And I even asked the President to respectfully go back to the 1995 days when he was full of action and that was what the people wanted to see.”
He said, “I also said that Ghanaians also wanted to see President Akufo-Addo punish all the saboteurs who stabbed him in the back during the fight against Galamsey in his first term.”
He added, “I insisted that Ghanaians are not happy because they want to see President Akufo-Addo deal with members of NDC who caused a lot of mess and robbed the public purse during their tenure in power, and that cannot be misinterpreted by mischievous characters to set me up against the President’s goodwill.”
According to Abronye, “all those who stabbed the President in the back do not deserve any position in his government because they did a great disservice to the nation,” adding that “it is a matter of record that, John Mahama is rather the one who has disappointed Ghanaians.”
“President Akufo-Addo is actually fixing the mess created by Mr. Mahama and his cohorts. For the records, since the inception of the Fourth Republic, President Akufo-Addo is the only President who inherited an almost dead economy,” adding that “but for the intervention of Akufo-Addo’s NPP, the economy would have been in the mortuary awaiting burial by now.”
