The eagerly awaited Afro Nation Nigeria 2023 has been canceled, leaving fans disappointed.
The renowned international music festival announced that the event scheduled for December will not proceed as planned due to the challenging circumstances of delivering a show of the quality that Nigeria deserves.
In a social media post, the festival organizers expressed their deep affection for Nigeria, emphasizing that the cancellation was an incredibly difficult decision.
They acknowledged Nigeria’s special place in their hearts, making the choice even more heart-wrenching.
The Afro Nation team assured fans of their unwavering commitment to creating an unforgettable show in Lagos in the future, one that everyone can take pride in. They understand the disappointment this news brings to their dedicated fans who had already purchased tickets, and they have pledged to offer full refunds.
“We know that you are as disappointed as we are, and to all those who have purchased tickets, we love you and thank you for supporting us on this journey. We will refund all tickets, including booking fees. Ticket buyers do not need to do anything but will receive an email with information outlining the refund process,” the statement released on October 31st assured.
Afro Nation is well-known for bringing together top Afrobeats and international artists in electrifying festivals.
In December last year, the festival marked its return to Accra after the successful 2019 African debut event in Ghana. During the 2019 edition, the Marine Drive at Black Star Square hosted some of the most prominent names in African music.
Nigeria’s Afro Nation 2023 promised to be a remarkable celebration of music and culture in the heart of Lagos.
With the cancellation, the music-loving community and festival-goers eagerly await the return of Afro Nation to the vibrant Nigerian scene, which would have made it the second country on the continent to host this spectacular event.
