Ghanaian socialite, Akuapem Poloo, is to return before an Accra court on January 29, 2021, after she was charged with publication of nude pictures.

The trial, which was supposed to come off on November 23, was changed after the prosecutor failed to show up in court on Monday, according to a Myjoyonline report.

It was reported that Chief Inspector Agartha Asantewaa was on leave, allowing the court to suspend the case to next year.

The court, presided over by Christina Cann, ordered the prosecution to file all necessary disclosure documents, including witness statements before the next court sitting.

On June 30, Akuapem Poloo faced backlash when she posted a nude picture of herself with her son to celebrate his seventh birthday.

Initially, she defended herself saying she was not completely naked but later apologised for her actions and deleted the picture off her Instagram page.

Subsequently, the Executive Director of Child Right International, Bright Appiah, petitioned the police to investigate the matter after the actress was criticised for the act.

She was later charged for publication of obscene material and two counts of engaging in domestic violence. However, Akuapem Poloo pleaded not guilty.
