Alhaji Sidiku Buari
Alhaji Sidiku Buari, veteran musician and former president of Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), on Monday received Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) Titan Award for his selfless contributions to Ghana’s music industry for so many years.
He was also inducted into the Ghana Music Award Hall of Fame.
This was at the 2021 VGMA 1st National Music Summit held at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre, organised by Charterhouse as part of activities celebrating World Music Day.
The summit was to among other objectives shed light on the Ghana music industry through a national dialogue on the music industry and its growth as well as honour some industry stalwarts in the ecosystem who played or have played major roles in the industry.
It was held with limited audience but shared with millions across the VGMA official social media channels and lasted from 10am to 2pm.
Alhaji, who has 16 albums to his credit, is one of the pillars of Ghana’s music industry.
He has been a past president of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and vice president of the International Federation of Musicians (FIM). He chalked a lot of success in his music quest.
As a key player in the industry over the past years as music administrator and producer, he has undoubtedly been one of the leading figures instrumental to the industry’s growth.
He stands tall in the music industry and history will not forgive stakeholders if they do not acknowledge him.
