All Set For Accra Art Week

This year’s edition of Ghana’s leading art exhibition event dubbed ‘Accra Arts Week’ (AAW), will take place from December 20 to 23 in Accra.

The event aims to foster a deeper appreciation for the arts, encourage cultural exchange, and create a sense of community through creative expression.

It promises to be a captivating showcase of local and international talent, fostering a dynamic platform for artists to connect with the public.

Themed “Art from Accra is borderless”, this year’s edition aims to highlight the rich tapestry of artistic expression, emphasising the diverse perspectives and talents that contribute to Accra’s arts and culture scene.

It is expected to host talented artists, art enthusiasts, and creative minds from Accra and beyond.

Art lovers and visitors will be guided through the city’s most creative spaces via a series of exhibitions, pop-ups, and performances; showcasing the work of established and emerging artists of Ghanaian and African art and design.

This combines with a dynamic programme of talks, workshops, art auctions, film screenings, and tours.

“Our primary mission of AAW is to galvanise support for the creative sector locally and to reinforce Accra’s position as a leading arts destination in Africa and the world at large. AWW 2023 offers patrons the chance to explore various art exhibitions, engage artists, participate in interactive workshops, and even purchase exceptional artworks to add to your collection,” said Edwin Otta, Founder of AWW.

“Whether you’re an art connoisseur or simply curious about the art world, there’s something for everyone at this event. Accra Art Week 2023 promises to be an unforgettable experience, filled with creativity, inspiration, and a whole lot of fun.”
