This year’s edition of the annual music and cultural festival dubbed “GhanaFest” which is on the theme “Forward Together”, will take place in Washington Park, USA on July 29.
The Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago (GNC) will be organizing the event, which is its 35th edition, to introduce the outside world to Ghanaian music and culture.
GhanaFest is a dance party that honors Ghana’s history and culture. It aims to unite the American-Ghanaian communities on one stage to celebrate Ghanaian music and customs.
Ghanaians living in Canada and the United States are anticipated to attend the event.
Traditional Ghanaian food sampling, a fashion show, a beauty pageant, and an exotic cultural exhibition by diverse ethnic groups from Ghana are just a few of the events planned for the occasion.
The festival will feature a variety of exciting events for attendees, including a dance festival, cultural performances by Ghanaian cultural groups, and a host of others.
It will feature a large number of Ghanaian exhibitors showcasing products and services created in Ghana.
The event will feature performances by Ghanaian artistes, including Sarkodie, who is presently touring the United States.
