Celebrated Ghanaian highlife music icons, Nana Osei Ampofo Adjei (Adom FM/Adom TV fame), Oheneba Kissi, Kaakyire Kwame Appiah are among some selected music stars billed to perform at the maiden edition of the annual highlife concert dubbed ‘Ampofo Adjei Lives Concert’
According to the organisers, the event will take place on December 26 at the Eleanor Akufo-Addo Memorial Social Centre, Asante Mampong.
The event, which aims to reignite the fun and excitement that Asante Mampong used to be known for on Boxing Days (December 26) during the days of the late Akwasi Ampofo Adjei, will host a number of music and movie stars.
The concert is expected to pull thousands of music lovers to the venue to witness the thrilling performances.
The music icons billed to thrill fans at the event, BEATWAVES gathered, have something unique in them when it comes to live band musical performance.
The organisers revealed that the event will be used to launch the 20th anniversary of the passing of the legendary Mr. A.A.A.
A number of Kumawood stars have been invited to spice up the night with some comedy backed by the Ampofo Adjei Band.
Nana Osei Ampofo Adjei of Adom FM and Adom TV, who has taken up the mantle from his father, will personally perform lots of popular songs to entertain patrons.
Almost 20 years after his death, Mr. A.A.A.’s music still resonates with Ghanaians both home and abroad, and the ever popular December 26 concert have been missed by many who have called for it to be reinstituted to bring back the joy of Christmas to the people of Mampong and those who travelled from different parts of the country to the ‘Silver Kingdom’.
