An Eye For An Eye, Tooth For Tooth – Ken Agyapong Fires

KENNEDY AGYAPONG, a strong contender in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race, insists he will not allow anybody to use acts of intimidation to prevent him from winning the party’s presidential election.

According to him, certain party gurus, including Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka ‘Wontumi’, the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, have virtually hijacked the party to the chagrin of other party members.

Kennedy Agyapong, therefore cautioned Wontumi and his cohorts that if they dare attempt to use their threats to intimidate the party delegates ahead of the NPP presidential polls, he would face them squarely.

“If Wontumi and his likes don’t stop their hooliganism acts and intimidations that they have introduced to hijack the party, it would be an eye for an eye, and tooth for tooth. I will give them a bombshell”, Kennedy Agyapong stated.

The Assin Central lawmaker was addressing a mammoth rally to climax the Ashanti Regional version of the famous ‘Showdown Walk’, which saw supporters of Kennedy Agyapong marching through Kumasi streets on Saturday.

With a grim face, Kennedy Agyapong said Wontumi, who he claimed to be a “small boy”, has introduced acts of hooliganism into the party’s national council meetings, yet nobody in the party is condemning his weird actions.

According to him, the same Wontumi has been using his radio station in Kumasi to insult and dent the image of respectable party members without provocation, citing himself and Alan Kyeremanten as victims of the insults.

“Who is Wontumi?, he is just a small boy”, Kennedy Agyapong exclaimed, instantly attracting wild shouts of approval from the charged crowd, who urged him.

He added “How can he constantly insult a decent man like Alan Kyeremanten and other party big men like myself on his radio in Kumasi without provocation”, adding that he was surprised that nobody was bringing Wontumi to order.

Kennedy Agyapong, without mincing words, stated that Alan Kyeremanten was too gentle so Wontumi and his cohorts had a field’s day to insult him and go scot free, but they would not have it easy with him (Kennedy).

“Wontumi, I will give you a showdown on November 4, 2023, if you try to use intimidation tactics to scare the delegates. I will not sit down for this small boy to run down the NPP”, he said, tasking the NPP national executives to act now.

He said “I’m disappointed in the party’s national executives for being quiet about the wrongs in the party. Alan Kyeremanten and his supporters were mistreated but the party executives kept quiet.”

Kennedy Agyapong said the issuing is threats that anyone who fails to vote for Dr. Bawumia would be sacked form the party should stop, saying “If you are men do it. I will give them a showdown”, adding, “I love peace that is why I have been quiet but nobody should provoke me”.
