Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh has rubbished claims that Dome Kwabenya Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Sarfo was impersonated in Parliament during the approval of the 2022 budget.
Mr. Annoh-Dompreh dismissed calls for an investigation into this matter saying the Majority in Parliament has too many productive matters to sort out, particularly, dealing with welfare matters of Ghanaians.
It is recalled that Adwoa had indicated that she was not impersonated in Parliament Tuesday, November 30 when the 2022 budget was approved.
She said on the floor of Parliament that “Mr. Speaker, I was present in this house”
Despite this clarification, some still believe that somebody represented her in the House, hence their call of the probe.
The Nsawam-Adoagyiri lawmaker was replying to a tweet at him which said “I insist she was impersonated and I challenge her and your party to take me to any court.”
This whole matter came up after MP for North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, had said the Minority was probing a case of impersonation of Adwoa Safo.
“Following pictures and videos we are reviewing this morning, it is becoming quite apparent to us that there may be a case of impersonation with regards to the lady who was presented as Adwoa Safo. It’s beginning to appear that she may not be Adwoa Safo,” Mr. Ablakwa told Accra-based Joy FM.
