Assemblymen in the eight electoral areas of the Bantama sub-metro in Kumasi, have recognized the unique performance of their MP Francis Asenso-Boakye.

They presented a citation to him as a sign of their appreciation for championing the interest of the constituency.

The citation particularly highlighted the special roles that Asenso-Boakye, who is also the Minister of Works and Housing, has played to make Bantama the envy of other constituencies and encouraged him to continue to sacrifice for Bantama to remain on the path of development.

Francis Amoako, the Chairman of the Bantama Sub-Metro, speaking on behalf of the assemblymen stated that the Bantama Constituency has not seen a development-oriented lawmaker like Asenso-Boakye in their history.

“From the time of Richard Anane till now, we have not seen any MP who has brought us this kind of development. We all have to support him to do more for us,” he pointed out.

He also said Asenso-Anokye has helped in “the construction and the asphalting of major roads; several AstroTurf Football Pitches; given scholarship to needy and provided industrial machines for shoe makers, hairdressers, tailors/seamstresses.”

Again, Francis Amoako, on his part, expressed “great appreciation to Asenso-Boakye for lobbying for the construction of the Atafoa Bridge where commuters, over years, have suffered flooding leading to the death of some people who attempted to cross during heavy overflows”.

Asenso-Boakye, who was beaming with smiles, said the citation from the Assembly members would surely motivate him to do more for his people, stressing that he was happy that his modest contributions to transform Bantama has been recognized by the people he represent in parliament.

He said the development of a country is a shared responsibility therefore Ghanaians should at all times contribute their quota, especially by promptly paying their taxes so that the country would get the needed funds to embark on developmental projects.
