Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has described the 24-hour economic policy of former President John Dramani Mahama as useless, stressing that the former President does not understand his own policy.

“Today, John Mahama says he has new ideas and that he wants a 24-hour economy, he doesn’t even understand that policy,” the Vice President stated.

Former President John Dramani Mahama, has indicated that his 24-hour policy will reduce the unemployment rate in the country and create more job opportunities for the youth as well as providing tax relief incentives to encourage businesses and the private sector participation.

According to him, many sectors of the economy in Ghana currently operate 24-hour services daily.

“Today, our hospitals, electricity company, water company, fuel stations, chop bars and many sectors all work 24 hours. Today, because of digitalisation you can transfer and receive money in 24 hours, so he doesn’t understand his own policy,” the Vice President pointed out.

Addressing a gathering at a mini rally during his “Thank You Tour” in Tamale in the Northern Region, Dr. Bawumia urged Ghanaians to vote massively for him, stressing, “Vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in 2024, I will bring new vision, I will bring new policies and we will transform this country.”

“John Dramani Mahama is the past, Dr. Bawumia is the future. If John Mahama was still around we would have had dumsor, and you can’t have dumsor with 24-hour economy,” he stated.

Dr. Bawumia is currently embarking on a “Thank You Tour” across the country to thank New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters for choosing him to lead the party in the 2024 general elections.
